Origin Story

This story takes place on 19th-century earth in a city called Horseville. During this time electricity was brand new and gasoline was just hitting the markets. People traveled in horse-drawn carriages or by foot. Bobert lived in Horseville which was a newly built city. There were a lot of people in Horseville so it was almost always crowded. The city was as loud as a million saccades buzzing at once. The city was a lively circus. There were a lot of food stands around the city so the city always smelled like good food. You could almost taste the food walking by. There once was a machine god who had an idea but needed someone to implement it. He dreamed of a world where people easily rode around in four-wheeled vehicles, vehicles that were as fast as cheetahs and as safe as brick homes. He sent his idea to Bobert who was a lonely and sad man. Bobert strongly hated his job as an office worker in the government. He was a lone wolf who had very few friends and no family. The machine god felt pity for Bobert and gave him the idea to build the vehicle in a dream. Within the dream the machine god gave Bobert, Bobert saw the blueprints for the vehicle. When Bobert woke up he knew he had to build this wonderful machine so he got a piece of paper and a pencil and drew the blueprint he saw in his dream. The blueprint was a complex puzzle. The next day, Bobert excitedly took his blueprint to investors who told him he was as crazy as a clown. Bobert felt sad but wasn't ready to give up. He resiliently decided to gather materials from a local scrapyard and build the vehicle himself.
